Jay Kaes in Brick Lane, London

Spanish artist Jay Kaes lives and works in London, his style is a mix of bright colours used to give a shape to distinct female portraits and alienated characters. His hand works with a very personal graffiti-style that blends geometry and figuration getting to a perfect fusion. His murals talk about social media and the impact of this virtual world on the society. Very often these characters are dazed, surrounded by technological gadgets, they lose the contact with reality. In Brick Lane he painted several times, in this artwork Kaes realises an upside down man who is dropping two smartphones. From the phones come out figures without features, floating in the background, while the men, who has no pupils, looks anguished. The mural is an accurate critique to the social media addiction.
