“Masterpeace” by Shok-1 in Brick Lane, London

Shok-1 is a British street artist who works with a specific and amazing X-ray effect. Starting from a great fusion between the street and the science he realises human bones with high-level freehand technique. His mastery allows him to paint with no tape or stencils, using instead different layers and hues of colours to create the intricate and transparent effect. In the recent murals he abandoned the bright colours for a single one that makes the result more realistic. In Fournier Street, just off of Brick Lane, Shok-1 paints a V sign, popularly known as sign of peace, and created in this case as a response to the hostilities resulting from the UK’s EU Referendum. His art is a way to analyse the depth of the human being, a kind of diagnosis of the 21st century society.
