Pedro Batista in Ponta Delgada, Azores

Portuguese artist Pedro Batista was part of Walk & Talk Festival 2011 in Azores where he painted two murals. Pedro is a figurative artist who exposed in different exhibitions around the world. These international experiences brought him to reflect and analyse the human condition through his art. In Ponta Delgada, he works exceptionally on the walls leaving powerful and intimate paintings. He uses a dark palette to capture alone and vanished characters on empty backgrounds. His human beings seem to escape from the anxiety and more in general from the reality. His art is strongly introspective and at the same time it is deeply communicative. The vacuity of the space occupied by his characters is erased by the intense feelings that his universe produces, generating a profound connection with the audience.
