“Romeo and Juliet” by Natalia Rak and Bezt in Caserta, Italy

Romeo and Juliet are depicted on the outer walls of the headquarters of the Municipality of Caserta, Italy. The two huge murals were created by street artist Polish Betz – from Etam Cru – and his partner Natalia Rak, taking part in Memorie Urbane Street Art Festival.
One of the finest Shakespearean tragedy: an impossible love and two lovers destined to remain divided forever. He has an ampoule in one hand and her a knife, just as in the epilogue of the play. What makes them impossible to love, however, are not two feuding families, the Montagues and Capulets, but the structure of the town hall of Caserta that, in fact, separates them.
